Over 250 candidates and cadets at the Fort Gordon Youth ChalleNGe Academy participated in Royer Studios' Animate My Action Plan Phase I earlier this month.

The young men and women, in their second and third weeks at YC, had the opportunity to work in teams to produce animated short films about their goals and plans for the future, once they graduate with a GED or High School Diploma.

As always, the Royer Studios team was impressed by the talent and creativity displayed by many of the participants. However, AMAP is a project-based learning experience designed to support young people in unlocking their talents and skills, and often those skills are in areas other than media arts, such as leadership, teamwork, project management, and problem-solving,

"What I learned from this program is that everyone has some sort of talent and the potential to use that talent if they apply themselves." - Cadet Hood

48 cadets from Phase I have been invited to participate in AMAP Phase II for introductory vocational training in media arts. We look forward to supporting the ongoing success of these dedicated and motivated young men and women through graduation and beyond.
